Julie lives west of Austin with her ever-patient husband, their two indoor-only cats, and the creatures that haunt the canyon below. She has found there is no plot problem that cannot be solved by a brisk walk followed by a couple of warm chocolate chip cookies.
In the past Julie wrote a successful adult mystery series about a trio of lady landscapers and magazine articles about gardening, horses and theater. In 2017 she returned to fiction with BURNED, inspired by her work with children as a Horse Management Judge for the United States Pony Clubs. Julie is a graduate of the MFW program at Vermont College of Fine Arts with a focus on Writing for Children and Young Adults and an active member of both Sisters in Crime and the SCBWI.
